Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) commercial engine solutions business, formerly Kelly Aviation Center, has secured a potential nine-year, $1 billion contract to provide engine overhaul and logistics support services for the U.S. Air Force’s KC-10 tanker aircraft.
The service branch received two proposals for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that also covers engine teardown, on-wing support, labor, engine parts and transportation services, the Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday.
Work will occur at air bases in California, New Jersey, Texas and Florida through March 6, 2026.
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will obligate $3.6 million from fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
KC-10Â is designed to perform aerial refueling and cargo transport missions and has a maximum takeoff weight of up to 590,000 pounds.
