Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) rotary and mission systems business has secured a $100.4 million contract modification to update the U.S. Navy‘s shipboard sensor processing systems under the Technical Insertion-16 Acoustic – Rapid-Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Insertion program.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday the program seeks to accelerate the procurement of commercial off-the-shelf hardware and software to build on the acoustic performance of ship sensor processing systems.
Lockheed will deliver the A-RCI integrated sonar system as well as spares and pre-cable kits through the award.
DoD added the company will perform work in Manassas, Virginia, and Clearwater, Florida, through December 2022 and utilize Navy funds for fiscal 2017 shipbuilding conversion, fiscal 2017 and 2016 “other” procurement and fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance.
The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington administered the contract.
