Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a $125.2 million contract modification for engineering and technical support work on commercial off-the-shelf sonar equipment for the U.S. Navy.
The Defense Departmentsaid Monday that Lockheed’s rotary and mission systems business will continue to develop and produce Acoustic-Rapid COTS Insertion systems under the modification.
Work will occur in Virginia and New York through December 2017.
The A-RCI program aims to integrate and update towed, hull and sphere arrays and other ship sensor processing technologies through rapid insertion of COTS-based hardware and software, DoD noted.
The Navy obligated $18.3 million at the time of award from its fiscal 2013, 2014 and 2015 shipbuilding and conversion funds as well as fiscal 2017 research, development, test and evaluation funds.
