The Department of Defense said Tuesday indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers engineering investigations and analyses, formulation of deficiency resolution concepts, designing proof-of-concepts, and laboratory and on-and-off aircraft testing.
According to the updated solicitation notice released November 2024, the company will provide sustaining engineering services to the Aircraft Structural Integrity Program, Functional Systems Integrity Program, and Corrosion Prevention and Control Program. It will also conduct studies and investigations under the Deficiency Investigation Program.
The Lockheed business unit will conduct work at its facility in Marietta, Georgia. It is expected to finish the project by Sept. 14, 2030. The C-5 contracting branch at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, which awarded the sole-source acquisition contract, will allocate $34.9 million from fiscal 2025 appropriated funds at the time of the award.
