Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has secured a five-year, $100 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to support production of Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile systems.
The Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday the company will also provide lifecycle support for JASSM, Long Range Anti-Ship Missile, JASSM-Extended Range and other JASSM variants in the areas of system upgrades, integration, production, sustainment, management and logistics.
Work will occur in Orlando, Florida through April 17, 2022.
Lockheed put the updated JASSM through two flight tests in March at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico to verify and demonstrate the missile’s global positioning system anti-jam software and hardware.
JASSM is an air-to-ground standoff missile that works to destroy fixed and relocatable targets in support of U.S. and allied forces.
