Knight Architects Among Eight Firms Awarded Spots on $140M Army Engineering Contract

Knight Architects has secured a position on a $140 million multiple-award contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide general design and architect-engineering services for projects across the South Atlantic Division, according to a notice posted on SAM.gov. The contract has an ordering period of five years.

What Work Will Be Performed?

Under the multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, Knight Architects and other awardees will provide planning, design, engineering and technical services for various construction and modernization efforts.

Task orders will be negotiated as firm-fixed price and are primarily for the design of projects with a construction value at or below $5 million.

The work primarily consists of the design of new vertical construction, such as barracks, dining facilities, offices, equipment maintenance facilities, labs and child development centers, and horizontal construction projects, including airfields, roads and ranges.

The contract also includes additional services such as master planning, value engineering, surveys, studies, commissioning and cost estimating.

All designs must utilize building information modeling software and comply with the Savannah District design manual and applicable Army Corps of Engineers standards.

Work locations will include key military installations in the Savannah District area of responsibility, such as Ft. Liberty, Ft. Eisenhower, Ft. Jackson, Ft. Stewart, Ft. Moore, Gillem Enclave, Moody Air Force Base, Hunter AAF, Seymour Johnson AFB and Robins AFB.

Who Are the Other Awardees?

The contract was set-aside for small businesses. Besides Knight Architects, seven other firms were awarded contract spots:

  • Blair Remy Merrick MP Joint Venture
  • Sherlock, Smith & Adams
  • Zapata Group
  • GMHill Baker JV
  • Gurri Matute Cromwell JV

These firms will compete for task orders to support the Corps’ design, planning and engineering activities.
