His appointment to the advisory board comes after Ellen Lord, former acquisition chief at the Department of Defense and four-time Wash100 Award recipient, joined Voyager’s board of directors.
As NASA’s 13th administrator, Bridenstine spearheaded agencywide space, aeronautic and scientific initiatives such as the Artemis lunar exploration program.
He previously served on the House Armed Services and Science, Space and Technology committees. During his U.S. Navy career, he logged 1,900 flight hours and supported the branch’s combat missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.
