Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) Newport News Shipbuilding division has promoted Jason Ward to vice president of Columbia-class submarine construction and named Dave Bolcar as VP for the Virginia-class submarine development program.
Ward and Bolcar will directly report to Ken Mahler, VP of Navy programs at Newport News Shipbuilding, HII said Wednesday.
Jennifer Boykin, president of HIIs Newport News Shipbuilding division, said the leadership changes seek to reflect the opportunities and growth that Virginia- and Columbia-class submarine programs offer to the division.
Prior to his promotion, Ward previously served as director of the Columbia-class ballistic missile submarine construction program.
He has held the roles of program manager of AP1000 shield building fabrication at HIIs Newport News Industrial business and director of integrated digital shipbuilding.
