Jane Pinelis, an official at the Department of Defense’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, said JAIC plans to award a multiple-award contract in February to provide testing and evaluation support services for all offices across DOD working on AI, FedScoop reported Tuesday.
“What we are looking for is the entire spectrum of support,” Pinelis, head of AI testing and evaluation at JAIC, said Tuesday during an AFCEA DC event.
Pinelis said the center needs assistance to automate parts of the testing process, such as updating algorithms and facilitating software interoperability, and expects the multiple-award contract to establish connection with industry and meet the testing needs of other agencies within the department.
“The JAIC is about enabling the department to achieve scale, and the only way we can do that is if we come up with these contract vehicles that others can use as well,” she added.
