Jacobs Unit Secures Potential $1B Contract for NASA Engineering, Scientific Services

Jacobs Engineering Group‘s (NYSE: JEC) technology business unit has received a potential eight-year, $1.1 billion contract from NASA to perform a range of engineering and scientific services in support of the agency’s Marshall Space Flight Center and Michoud Assembly Facility.

NASA said Thursday the Engineering Services and Science Capability Augmentation contract is designed to address Marshall’s and Michoud’s requirements for engineers, scientists and engineering technicians.

Jacobs will also provide services and skills to support design, analysis, development and testing efforts at the two agency facilities.

Work is scheduled to commence Dec. 1.

The ESSCA contract, which has a four-year base period and two two-year options, is a follow-on to the Engineering and Science Services and Skills Augmentation contract that was also awarded to Jacobs.
