Jacobs Engineering Group has been selected to craft requirements and standards for a post-hurricane reconstruction program at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida.
Jacobs said Tuesday it will act as a subconsultant to KBR (NYSE: KBR) on the project and aims to help the base update facility standards in accordance with the Installation of the Future strategy.
Work will also involve the development of a master program schedule, analysis of delivery methods and reoccurring risk preparation and opportunity planning efforts.
“We view the post-disaster environment not only as a catalyst to restoring operational capability for the base and its missions, but also to help create a prototypical and definitional future installation with a focus on resiliency and sustainability,” said Pankaj Duggal, senior vice president of buildings, infrastructure and advanced facilities at Jacobs’ federal solutions business.
The Air Force aims to return Tyndall AFB to its full operational capacity after the installation experienced serious damage caused by Hurricane Michael.
Jacobs helped develop zone development plans along with 42 program requirement packages as part of a $2.8B military construction funding request to Congress.
