Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has been awarded a potential $400 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to repair nuclear-powered submarines, moored training ships, special mission submersibles and submarine support facilities for the U.S. Navy.
The Defense Departmentsaid Thursday the contract has an ordering period of five years and covers maintenance, modernization, overhaul, technical engineering, supplies and nuclear-related touch labor support.
The company will perform work in various locations within and outside the continental U.S.
DoD noted that some Naval Supply Systems Command activities and all naval shipyards can order the support services from Huntington Ingalls through the contract.
The Naval Sea System Command in Washington is the contracting activity and the military branch has not obligated funds at the time of award.
