How will Anderson Connectivity’s Acquisition Impact Hughes?
Hughes said Wednesday its acquisition of Melbourne, Florida-based Anderson Connectivity enhances its technological and engineering capabilities and accelerates its expansion across the aviation, space and defense sectors.
“Our aviation and defense business units at Hughes continue to excel. EchoStar is investing in a robust future and is proud to add Anderson Connectivity to augment our already strong foundation,” said Hamid Akhavan, president & CEO of EchoStar.
Anderson Connectivity’s founder, Brian Anderson, will assume the role of vice president of aviation technology and innovation officer at Hughes. The Melbourne facility will now function as a central hub for aviation innovation and agile product development within Hughes and EchoStar. The facility is already Federal Aviation Administration Part 145-certified and is progressing toward Part 21 certification.
“Brian Anderson is a visionary in aerospace technology and his team brings unmatched expertise and capabilities,” added Paul Gaske, chief operating officer of Hughes.
