The U.S. Navy has awarded a five-year, $400 million contract to a General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) subsidiary to repair in-service nuclear-powered submarines, special mission submersibles, moored training ships and submarine support installations.
General Dynamics Electric Boat will provide maintenance, overhaul, modernization, technical engineering and nuclear-related touch labor support services under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
Work will occur at various locations within and outside the continental U.S. through September 2021.
The Naval Sea System Command has not obligated funds for the contract at the time of award.
