General Dynamics Posts $12.9B in Q3 2025 Revenue

General Dynamics reported $12.9 billion in fiscal 2025 third quarter revenue, up 10.6 percent from the same period in 2024.

How did General Dynamics Perform Financially in Q3?

The Reston, Virginia-based aerospace and defense company said Friday it recorded $1.3 billion in operating earnings and a diluted earnings per share of $3.88, which showed year-over-year increases of 12.7 percent and 15.8 percent, respectively. General Dynamics’ operating margin also rose to 10.3 percent, up 20 basis points from a year earlier and 30 basis points from the prior quarter.

General Dynamics generated $2.1 billion in operating cash flow during the quarter, equal to 199 percent of net earnings. The company returned $403 million through dividends and invested $212 million in capital expenditures. It ended the period with $8 billion in total debt and $2.5 billion in cash and equivalents.

The company received $19.3 billion in new orders during the period, resulting in a consolidated book-to-bill ratio of 1.5-to-1. Its Defense segments recorded a 1.6-to-1 ratio, while Aerospace came in at 1.3-to-1. General Dynamics ended the quarter with $167.7 billion in total contract value, including a backlog of $109.9 billion and a potential $57.8 billion from unfunded IDIQ contracts and unexercised options.

Phebe Novakovic, chairman and CEO of General Dynamics, noted that all four of the company’s segments grew earnings and backlog in the third quarter.

“The Aerospace segment in particular performed impressively, growing revenue 30.3 percent and expanding margins by 100 basis points from the same period a year ago, with order activity for business jets remaining very strong,” said the nine-time Wash100 Award winner.
