General Dynamics’ (NYSE: GD) land systems business will supply M1 Abrams tank sight units with containers to the U.S. Army under a maximum $99.9 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/definite-quantity contract from the Defense Logistics Agency.
The Department of Defense said Monday General Dynamics Land Systems will conduct contract work in Alabama and is expected to perform deliveries over a five-year period.
The Army will use its fiscal 2022 to 2027 working capital funds to procure equipment for the service branch’s M1 Abrams main battle tank.
The MBT provides the Army with land combat assault capability. As the service branch’s primary ground combat system, it is equipped with 1,500-horsepower turbine engine, 120 mm main gun and special armor to support warfighters on battlefields.
