General Dynamics Gets $104M Contract for US, UK Ballistic Missile Submarine Dev’t

General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has secured a potential $104.2M contract to develop, produce and install systems for the U.S. Navy's Columbia-class and the U.K.'s Dreadnought-class ballistic missile submarines.

The company's mission systems business will perform the services and receive initial funds amounting to $39.3M, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

GDMS is expected to complete work by November 2024.

The Navy Strategic Systems Programs office in Washington, D.C., issued the cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and cost-no-fee contract via a sole-source acquisition process.

Columbia and Dreadnought submarines will replace the underwater vessels of the U.S. Ohio and U.K. Vanguard classes.
