Former Parsons Exec Joseph Nicholas Named STG SVP, Cyber Sector Lead

Joseph Nicholas, formerly vice president of the cyber intelligence and operations sector at Parsons, will join Reston, Virginia-basedÂ information technology services contractor STG on May 23 as senior vice president and sector leader for cybersecurity and secure information systems.

He will oversee the company’s efforts to develop IT platforms intended to help public-sector customersÂ secure mission-critical and sensitive national security networks in his new position, Â STG said Thursday.

His appointment comes six months after STG merged withÂ Global Defense & National Security Systems through aÂ $165.5 million cash-and-stock transaction in a push to introduceÂ the former company’s cyber and intelligence offerings intoÂ the latter’sÂ partner ecosystem.

“Weâ€™ve identified significant opportunities to bring our differentiated cybersecurity capabilities to new clients in the defense, federal civilian and intelligence communities and are excited about Joeâ€™s ability to help us meet the unique and stringent requirements of the government sector, ” noted STG PresidentÂ Paul Fernandes.

At Parsons, Nicholas has managed aÂ more than 500-employee organization that provides cyber operationsÂ support services to the intelligence sector.

He also previously held various technology management roles at Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) and its formerÂ advisory services divisionÂ TASC between 1998 and 2012.

He servedÂ in the U.S. Air Force forÂ nearly 22 years, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
