Thermal imaging camera provider FLIR Systems (Nasdaq: FLIR) is interested in joining a team to pursue the U.S. Army's Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle program, Inside Defense reported Thursday.
"We are certainly open to teaming on OMFV and providing that technology to various partners," Tom Frost, vice president and general manager of unmanned ground systems and integrated solutions at FLIR Systems, said during a media call Thursday.
FLIR is working with Textron (NYSE: TXT) on the Ripsaw M5 platform for the Army’s Robotic Combat Vehicle program.
Textron is part of an industry team led by a U.S. subsidiary of Rheinmetall that plans to offer a new variant of the Lynx KF41 vehicle for the OMFV competition. Team Lynx also includes Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX).
