Draft RFP Details $8.3B DOE Oak Ridge Reservation Cleanup Program

The office responsible for the Department of Energy’s environmental management functions is seeking feedback on a draft request for proposals for a potential 10-year, $8.3B covering cleanup services at the Oak Ridge Reservation site in Tennessee.

DOE said Tuesday it plans to use an “end-state contracting model” when considering bids from interested parties for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity ORRC contract.

Work will involve decontamination, demolition, waste treatment, disposal and remediation efforts at ORNL, East Tennessee Technology Park and Y-12 National Security Complex.

A selected contractor will also design, build and manage an environmental management disposal facility, as well as help the DOE EM office maintain operational and nonoperational facilities.

UCOR, a joint venture between Amentum and Jacobs (NYSE: J), received a two-year contract from the department last month to continue support work for Oak Ridge cleanup initiatives.
