DOE Selects Jacobs-North Wind Portage JV for $6.4B Idaho Cleanup 'End State' Contract

A joint venture between Jacobs (NYSE: J) and North Wind Portage has won a potential $6.4 billion indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to conduct environmental cleanup efforts at the Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory.

DOE said Thursday its environmental management office chose Idaho Environmental Coalition as the winning team for the 10-year Idaho Cleanup Project End State contract after a full and open competition with five proposals received.

Navarro Research and Engineering, Oak Ridge Technologies and Spectra Tech will support IEC as subcontractors in the project.

The department sought risk-based end state approaches to accomplish ICP objectives while ensuring public health and environmental protection.

Contract work covers integrated waste treatment unit operations, spent nuclear fuel management, waste disposition, facility decontamination and decommissioning, environmental remediation and facility infrastructure support services.

IEC will perform services at the INL site near Idaho Falls and at the Fort Saint Vrain spent fuel storage installation in Colorado.
