The Department of Defense™s inspector general has formed a team of auditors to assess the potential 10-year, $10B Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud computing contract, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.
œWe are reviewing the DoD™s handling of the JEDI cloud acquisition, including the development of requirements and the request for proposal process, said Dwrena Allen, a spokeswoman for the office of DoD IG. œIn addition, we are investigating whether current or former DoD officials committed misconduct relating to the JEDI acquisition, such as whether any had any conflicts of interest related to their involvement in the acquisition process.
Allen said the review of the contract is now underway and would be finalized œas expeditiously as possible.
The inspector general™s move came days after Dana Deasy, DoD™s chief information officer and 2019 Wash100 Award winner, announced that the Pentagon could take weeks to brief Defense Secretary and fellow 2019 Wash100 Award recipient Mark Esper on the JEDI contract.
