The Department of Defense asked a federal judge to approve its motion for a 120-day remand to reassess its decision to award the potential 10-year, $10B Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud computing contract to Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT), Nextgov reported Monday.
Attorneys at the Department of Justice representing DoD said in a legal filing Friday Amazon Web Services wants a “do-over” of the contracting process for the JEDI program and that the proposed four-month remand filed in mid-March is “in good faith to reconsider its evaluation and source selection decisions.”
“Our proposed remand treats both offerors equally and fairly, and is well-tailored to address the issues in this case while preserving the integrity of the competition that has already taken place,” DoD said in the filing.
The Pentagon’s recent filing came after Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) asked the court in late March to deny the department’s request for the 120-day remand.
