Boeing (NYSE: BA) has received three delivery orders worth a combined $984.3 million to provide spare parts for the U.S. Navy‘s fleet of F/A-18 Super Hornet multirole fighter planes.
The orders were awarded by the Defense Logistics Agency‘s aviation unit under a potential 10-year, sole-source acquisition contract with Boeing, the Defense Departmentsaid Monday.
DLA will use the Navy’s working capital funds for fiscal year 2016 through fiscal 2022 for the procurement of F/A-18 spares.
The Pentagon expects Boeing to complete the deliveries between June 30, 2019 and Dec. 31, 2021.
The Super Hornet is designed to land and take off from an aircraft carrier and equipped with an updated fuel tank, weapons pod, engine technology and radar system, according to Boeing.
