David Turner, formerly president of the applied technology and operational services group at Akima, has joined Hitachi Data Systemsas president and CEO of its U.S. federal subsidiary.
He brings more than two decades of public sector business strategy and development experience to his new position, Hitachi Data Systems said Tuesday.
Barry Morrison, senior vice president for Americas at Hitachi Data Systems, said Turner will support the company’s efforts to help federal customers adopt data management, mobility visualization and analytics platforms to meet their mission objectives.
At Akima, Turner provided business strategy oversight and managed a portfolio of five companies that worked with federal civilian and defense clients.
He previously served as senior vice president of Xerox‘s (NYSE: XRX) ACS Government Solutions subsidiary, a director at McDonald Bradley and a senior principal at American Management Systems.
