Curtiss-Wright (NYSE: CW) has secured approximately $80 million in contracts to provide various valves for the U.S. Navy‘s Virginia-class submarines and Ford-class aircraft carriers.
The company said Wednesday it received the contracts from business units of Bechtel and General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) as part of a ship construction support and spare parts procurement agreement.
Curtiss-Wright will deliver fiscal year 2016 orders for two ship sets of submarine propulsion plant valves and one set of aircraft carrier propulsion plant valves, with the funding balance for a previously awarded Virginia-class submarine Block IV Ship Service Ball valve contract.
David Adams, Curtiss-Wright chairman and CEO, said the company will work to utilize continuous innovation and process improvement approaches to support the Navy’s requirements for fleet readiness.
Curtiss-Wright has begun engineering and manufacturing work at its facility in New York and will continue through 2020, the company said.
