Curtiss-Wright Books $120M in Contracts for Navy Submarine Generators; Lynn Bamford Quoted

Curtiss-Wright (NYSE: CW) will supply generators to Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) for use on the latter’s work in support of the U.S. Navy’s next generation Columbia-class ballistic missile submarine program.

Deliveries will be made under recently awarded contracts worth potentially $120 million, the Davidson, North Carolina-based aerospace and defense company said Tuesday.

In June, Northrop received a $458 million award from the Navy to provide a range of services for the upcoming submarine fleet. The contractor will support the Columbia and Dreadnought Fleet Ballistic Missile Program for a five-year period.

Lynn Bamford, president and CEO of Curtiss-Wright and a previous Wash100 Award recipient, welcomed the opportunity for the company to work with Northrop on the U.S. nuclear naval defense platform and to continue its Navy support commitment.

“The Columbia-class ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) program is the U.S. Navy’s top priority to maintain the nation’s force structure,” she said.

The Navy expects to receive the lead submarine in 2027. The program meant to replace the Ohio-class fleet.
