The U.S. Navy has awarded CH2M Hill a potential five-year, $240 million contract to provide architect-engineering services for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command‘s Atlantic area of responsibility.
NAVFAC Atlantic awarded the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract through a competitive procurement process with three bids received, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
Work under this cost-plus-award-fee contract covers technical environmental and program management services as part of the U.S. Navy™s Munitions Response Program, Environmental Restoration Program and other initiatives.
The Environmental Restoration Program aims to reduce health risks through the identification and cleanup of military property that previously served as waste disposal sites.
The contractor will perform work through January 2021 at Navy and Marine Corps bases that are covered by the NAVFAC Atlantic AOR in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, according to DoD.
NAVFAC Atlantic will obligate $180, 000 from the service branch’s environmental restoration funds for fiscal 2016 at the time of award.
