A General Atomics business unit has been awarded a potential $585.04 million contract to help the U.S. Customs and Border Protection operate and maintain unmanned aircraft systems.
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. will also provide replacement aircraft, components and spares to the agency, according to an award notice posted Tuesday on SAM.gov.
The agency noted in a justification and approval document that it made the award to sustain a strategy that underpins its procurement of General Atomics-built MQ-9B Predator B and Guardian UAS along with associated services.
