CACI International (NYSE: CACI) has purchased Ascent Vision Technologies for an undisclosed sum as part of efforts to expand capabilities in counter-unmanned aircraft systems and multidomain intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance areas.
AVT offers electro-optical, infrared imaging platforms designed to provide target acquisition and ISR capabilities and CACI said Wednesday it will integrate its signals intelligence, CORIAN and electronic warfare capabilities with AVT’s EO/IR and X-MADIS c-UAS.
“The combination of CACI and AVT brings unique advantages to our defense and national security customers with critical ISR and c-UAS missions,” said John Mengucci, president and CEO of CACI and a 2020 Wash100 Award winner. “Their accomplished leadership team, led by founder and CEO Tim Sheehy, and highly skilled technical employee population drives a unique culture of agile innovation and differentiated performance.”
X-MADIS works to detect, track and counter hostile UAS threats using gyro-stabilized optical sensors, non-kinetic electronic warfare and radar capabilities. The system also offers counter-IED, surface and ground surveillance and hostile fire location capabilities.
SheppardMullin acted as CACI’s legal adviser in the transaction. Jefferies and Holland & Hart LLP respectively served as AVT’s financial and legal advisers.
