Boeing (NYSE: BA) has won a potential seven-year, $319 million contract to help the U.S. Air Force perform maintenance and logistics work on C-32 transport aircraft for high-level government officials and C-40 military personnel and transport planes.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will also include modification design, installation, deployment, crash investigation and damage repair support for the Air Force’s C-32 and C-40 fleets, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
The AF Life Cycle Management Center received two offers for the program and is obligating $242, 392 at the time of award from fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds.
The C-32, a variant of Boeing’s 757-200 commercial airliner, is designed to accommodate the U.S. vice president, first lady and legislators for business trips while the C-40, based on the 737-700 series platform, is built to carry troops and equipment of the U.S. Air Force and Navy.
Boeing’s aerospace operations unit will perform work at USAF air bases in Illinois and Germany as well as at joint military stations in Maryland and Hawaii.
