Boeing (NYSE: BA) has received a potential $144.9 million contract modification to perform production concurrency updates to the training system of P-8A multimission maritime planes for the U.S. Navy and the government of Australia.
The Defense Departmentsaid FridayP-8A trainer upgrades are necessary to ensure training devices will fully function and address future mission requirements.
The Navy obligated $51.1 million at the time of award from its fiscal 2015 aircraft procurement funds as well as cooperative agreement funds.
Boeing will perform work under the modification in Florida, Missouri, Texas, Washington and Australia through February 2018.
