USAF Exercises $235M in Boeing Contract Options for Airborne Command Post Support

The U.S. Air Force has exercised three contract options worth $234.6 million for Boeing (NYSE: BA) to continue sustainment services to the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center.

The award represents options seven through nine of an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that includes support work such as program management and depot maintenance, the Defense Department said Wednesday.

Boeing was initially awarded $134 million for the first year of the potential 10-year IDIQ in November 2015.

For the seventh option year, the company will help the branch manage the E-4B program, procure spares, sustain engines and provide emergency and system integration laboratory support.

USAF obligated $78.2 million in fiscal 2023 operations and maintenance funds on the sole-source order.

The E-4B was built to serve as a command, control and communications hub for the U.S. president and defense leaders in the event of a national emergency.
