Boeing (NYSE: BA) has received a potential five-year, $83.3M contract to deploy field service representatives who will provide technical support for the U.S. Army’s AH-64 Apache helicopters.
Fifteen FSRs will share original equipment manufacturer knowledge and expertise with Army personnel who operate and maintain the Apache fleet under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, Boeing said Tuesday.
The branch owns 700 units of the attack helicopter platform.
The Chicago-based planemaker noted its FSR team acts as a direct link to the company's proprietary technical data and can instantly access its engineering function to supplement aircraft manuals.
According to Boeing, all the Apache FSRs are military veterans and the majority of them supported the fleet during their service.
