The U.S. Army has awarded Barnard Construction’s BFBC affiliate a one-year, $138.3M contract modification to update electrical systems supporting a portion of the southern border wall in Yuma, Ariz.
Work under the modification covers existing systems such as linear ground-detection technologies, shelters and CCTVs on the Barry M. Goldwater Range, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
The award modifies a $260.5M contract that BFBC secured in November to build supporting systems for the wall that passes through the U.S. Air Force bombing range.
The Army Corps of Engineers will obligate the modification's full amount in fiscal 2020 Army military construction funds at the time of award.
Contract work is slated to conclude by June 29, 2021.
