Battelle Gets $140M SOCOM Contract to Build Nonstandard Commercial Vehicle

Battelle has been awarded a $140M contract modification to produce another nonstandard commercial vehicle platform for U.S. Special Operations Command to address an “emergent” requirement.

The modification increases the ceiling value of a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to $310M, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

SOCOM issued a seven-year, $170M IDIQ in July 2016 for the Columbus, Ohio-based nonprofit company to modify commercial off-the-shelf trucks and sport utility vehicles for military use.

The contract runs through July 2023.
