Babel Street has named John Larson as president and chief artificial intelligence officer, a move aimed at advancing the company’s expansion into mission-grade AI capabilities for government and commercial risk intelligence customers.
Larson will lead AI product development and technology strategy, focusing on tools that improve identity resolution, threat monitoring and automated analytics.
Why Bring John Larson to Babel Street Now?
Larson previously oversaw enterprise-wide AI adoption at Booz Allen Hamilton as executive vice president in charge of core technology and AI, helping shape responsible AI governance and scale mission-focused AI programs across defense and civilian agencies.
A veteran of the federal consulting sector, Larson also held leadership roles at IHS Markit, now S&P Global, Deloitte, IBM and PwC.
Benji Hutchinson, CEO of Babel Street, described Larson as “one of the most transformative AI leaders in the industry.”
“His leadership will position Babel Street to expand our platform capabilities to deliver even greater value to our customers operating in high-stakes, high-complexity environments,” stated Hutchinson. “John will help Babel Street continue to earn a place as a trusted technology partner for the world’s most advanced identity intelligence and risk operations.”
Speaking about his new role, Larson said that Babel Street leads the sector in mission-grade risk intelligence due to its expansive data sources and global access. He expressed excitement about using AI to further that advantage, noting that doing so will amplify risk detection and make these powerful capabilities accessible to more organizations and the personnel on the front lines. Larson emphasized the goal of detecting threats sooner and responding with precision to protect more people and strengthen national resilience.
