The Defense Information Systems Agency has awarded AT&T (NYSE: T) a potential five-year, $74.6 million contract to provide Northstar long-haul telecommunications services and related transmission circuits in support of DISA’s ultra-high frequency/line-of-sight communications platform.
The sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract awarded by the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization has a one-year base term and a base value of $15.2 million as well as four option years, the Defense Departmentsaid Wednesday.
According to a FedBizOpps notice, the contract covers the provision of long haul services and network-based ground entry points for a UHF/LOS communications system that will work to provide ground-to-air and air-to-ground connectivity to aircraft in both analog and digital modes.
Contract work will occur at various locations across the continental U.S. and could continue through April 30, 2021 if all options are exercised, according to DoD.
