A joint venture of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has received a potential $89.8 million contract to update the fire control radar systems on the U.S. Army™s Apache helicopters.
Longbow LLC will perform software updates and build 84 radar electronics units under the contract, Lockheed said Wednesday.
The Longbow Fire Control Radar platform is designed to help pilots of Boeing-built (NYSE: BA) Apache attack aircraft detect, locate and classify targets.
Work will occur at Lockheed™s and Northrop™s facilities in Florida and Maryland through January 2019.
