Alion to Help Air Force Develop Space Tech Under $71M Task Order

Alion Science and Technology has received a four-year, $71M task order to help the Air Force Research Laboratory develop space, electromagnetic and information technologies for potential national security use.

The company said Monday it will perform research, development, test and evaluation services to AFRL’s space vehicles directorate as the military service looks to advance joint, coalition and multidomain warfare systems.

Under the task order, Alion will synthesize insights on space threats, explore options to address such risks and evaluate situational awareness platforms.

“Our expertise in conducting physics-based modeling, simulation, and assessments for multidomain analytics for space superiority and space control capabilities, operations, and architecture assures national security space missions support the warfighters,” said Todd Stirtzinger, senior vice president and general manager of Alion’s advanced technology group.

AFRL issued the order under the Department of Defense’s Information Analysis Center Multiple-Award Contract.
