An Akima subsidiary has secured a five-year, $499 million contract to provide design-build construction services to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District.
Jade Creek Construction will perform design-build and design-bid-build renovations and new construction projects and conduct repairs, modifications and alterations of existing buildings within the USACE Baltimore District’s areas of responsibility, Akima said.
“The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers undertakes numerous projects that offer coastal protection, flood protection, hydropower, navigable waters and ports, recreational opportunities, and water supply,” said Chris Jenkins, president of Akima’s construction and security solutions group.
The contract covers vertical construction, electrical and fire protection work, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, infrastructure projects, interior fit-up, demolition, communications, security and force protection projects.
