Airbus‘ helicopter manufacturing business provide an additional 16 UH-72ALakota helicopters to the U.S. Army under a five-year, $116.9 million modification to a previously awarded contract.
The Army Contracting Command has obligated $58.4 million in fiscal 2016 aircraft procurement funds at the time of award, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
Work under the modification is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 20, 2023.
The service branch initially awarded a three-year, $273.3 million contract to Airbus Helicopters for the production of 35 UH-72A units.
