Air Force Issues RFI for Potential $100M Cyber Operation Formal Training Support III Contract

The U.S. Air Force has initiated a market research to identify potential industry sources that could provide capabilities in support of the 16th Air Force’s cyber operations and information operations formal training unit under a potential five-year, $100 million contract.

The service plans to award the Cyber Operation Formal Training Support III indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract as a set-aside program for 8(a)-certified small businesses, according to a request for information published Tuesday.

The Air Force noted that the acquisition strategy for the CyOFTS III IDIQ contract has not yet been approved and is subject to change during the course of the procurement process.

The 39th Information Operations Squadron acts as the service’s CyO and IO formal training unit responsible for providing supplemental skills training, initial qualification training and advanced training in support of Air Force personnel’s cyber operations missions.

The CyOFTS III contract covers support services for the 39th IOS, including course planning and development, technical writing, administrative support, instructor training, network system administration, student mission training systems administration, hardware and infrastructure maintenance, computer help desk support and training range engineering management and maintenance, according to the performance work statement.

Responses to the RFI are due Nov. 9.
