A team composed of AECOM (NYSE: ACM), Fluor (NYSE: FLR) and Atkins has received a potential 10-year, $10B indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the Department of Energy to perform cleanup work at the Hanford site in Washington.
The AECOM-led Central Plateau Cleanup Co. will remediate waste sites and deactivate, decommission, decontaminate and demolish facilities; manage waste retrieval, storage, disposal and treatment; and oversee site safe and compliance base operations for DOE Richland operations office cleanup facilities, AECOM said Monday.
John Vollmer, president of management services group at AECOM and a 2019 Wash100 award winner, said the contract marks the company™s continued partnership with DOE and reflects the team™s efforts to conduct the cleanup work at Hanford.
The Central Plateau Cleanup Contract includes a transition period of 60 days and covers core business functions and preparation of Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act and Resource Conversation and Recovery Act decision documents.
