TeleCommunication Systems announced they provide production service in 33 states, which supports over 500 public safety answering points (PSAPs) allowing individuals to send emergency text messages via message session relay protocol and direct IP methods.
TCS stated that on May 15, 2014, they participated in the first “Interoperable” text-to-911 production deployment, successfully connecting wireless carrier’s, text service providers and emergency communications centers.
According to the company in 2015 the percent of delivered texts to 911 has increased by 70% over 2014 rates, which in turn was 35% higher than 2013 delivery rates.
