Craig Corbin, formerly a strategic programs and business development director at World Wide Technology, has taken on a new role as director of the company’s Defense Information Systems Agency account, GovCon Wire has learned.

The nearly 10-year Bell Atlantic veteran focused on the federal and state marketplaces in his prior role and focused on areas such as cloud computing, cybersecurity and supply chain security.

He held technical, sales and business development positions at Bell Atlantic and also worked at Silicon Valley-based startup Riverstone Networks.

Corbin discussed WWT’s entry into the supply chain market as part of a January 2013 conversation with ExecutiveBiz, where he overviewed risks the government faces in its supply chain due to counterfeiting.

“There have been a number of legal cases where the FBI has worked with the manufacturer to take down some of these counterfeiters, many of which are in China, ” Corbin said.

He also outlined the role of WWT and other GovCon firms in helping to shore up the supply chain through handling order management and shipping privately upon reception of equipment.

“In some cases, we also use different types of microscopes to look for counterfeiting of chips and other outward signs that gear has been tampered with, ” Corbin said.
