Air Force Finishes $7B NETCENTS-2 Vehicle Awards, 25 Companies Hold Spots

NGENGlobeTwenty-five companies in total will now compete for delivery orders to provide information technology products to the U.S. Air Force for the branch’s Internet Protocol network under a potential six-year,  $6.9 billion contract vehicle.

Nine companies have joined the list of NETCENTS-2 netcentric products vehicle awardees eligible for orders after the Air Force originally awarded positions to eight companies in April, then doubled the number of contractors to 16 in August.

A Tuesday Defense Department notice says the new round of awards completes a corrective action undertaken by the branch.

The new round of awardees includes:

  • Dell Federal Systems
  • FCN
  • Federal Networked Systems
  • Force 3
  • Harris IT Services (NYSE: HRS)
  • Insight Public Sector
  • PCMall
  • Presidio Networked Solutions
  • Sterling Computers

Netcentric products is one of five categories covered under NETCENTS-2 including applications services,  network operations and infrastructure solutions, enterprise integration and service management and IT professional services.
