The new circuit cards seek to update the AN/TPY-2’s capability to detect, locate and track airborne projectile weapons, Raytheon said Tuesday.
Dave Gulla, Raytheon vice president for integrated defense systems, said a goal of the redesign is to guarantee production of the AN/TPY-2 for international defense operations.
The AN/TPY-2 is a mobile X-band phased-array radar that works to discriminate all ballistic missile types for U.S. and allied forces.
