Data migration and support for Air Force could net Serco $24.5 million

Today, Serco, Inc. announced that it has been awarded the Air Force Data Preparation for the Expeditionary Combat Support System (ECSS) Data Preparation task order. As a result, Serco will support the U.S. Air Force Materiel Command with data migration from legacy systems into an integrated environment. The new task order has a six-month base period and a one-year option, and is valued at approximately $24.5 million.

The contract calls for Serco to support the Air Force through two phases of data migration as they work towards business transformation and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation. The first phase of migration will focus on moving legacy Air Force data into a centralized data repository, and the second phase will consist of moving that data from the repository into the chosen Oracle Product Suite.

“The Serco team is excited to have this opportunity to help the Air Force revolutionize its end-to-end supply chain business process through the successful implementation of ECSS, ” said Gary Zuber, Vice President of Air Force Logistics at Serco Inc. “We look forward to applying our data analysis services and logistics expertise to improve the quality of Air Force data.”
