The company said Lavanty, a 28-year information technology veteran, brings experience from all levels of government and the financial services, higher education and healthcare sectors.
His broad experience is intended to help the company carry out its strategy for expanding into new markets, President Jody Tedesco said in a release.
Before joining NJVC, Lavanty held executive positions at companies including Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) BMC (NASDAQ: BMC), Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), SAP (NYSE: SAP) and Inventa Technologies.
In March, NJVC promoted three of its general managers to vice president positions.
Lynn DeCourcey heads the cybersecurity unit, Kevin Jackson heads the cloud computing unit and Gary Lackey heads the print solutions unit.
